Today's the day!!! Our very first challenge as designers for CAS on SUNDAY!!! I'm humbled to have the opportunity to work with a team full of fabulous designers. You can see more of their work at their personal blogs which are linked in my sidebar. It's worth the trip, they've created beautiful inspiration projects for today's theme...
Be Mine Valentine!!!
Clean and simple designs may look easy, but the difficulty, for me at least, lies in the struggle to know when to stop adding to the design. It's not easy to curb that urge to embellish and fill in the white space that is part of any CAS design. I often choose to add visual interest with texture instead of color or pattern, as with today's design.
I started by cutting the standard A2 sized card base down to 4" wide. The lower half of the card front was embossed with a pattern of raised dots. Part of the sentiment was die cut from patterned paper and adhered to the card front. A 4-1/4" strip of patterned paper was dressed up with more of the same pink paper and a punched edge. This strip was mounted to the back of the patterned piece with thin foam dimensionals.
The whole panel was then added with a double layer of dimensional adhesive. The sentiment was stamped on a scrap of cardstock with the end trimmed to a banner point. The banner was slid beneath the raised panel and adhered directly to the card front. The points were curled upward and thin glue dots were placed under these to provide a bit of lift.
And, that's all there is to it! More inspiration awaits you at the CAS on Sunday blog. We're a bi-weekly challenge, so that gives everyone lots of time to play along. I can't wait to see your LOVELY creations!
