DeNami Design hosts a link up where customers can share their creations using DeNami Design products. The design team then chooses a project to inspire them each month, then they create something based on it. I won't lie folks...I linked up a LOT of cards! Paulina contacted me to say that my card had been selected by the DT for the month of April and I've been grinning ever since!
I have numerous DeNami Design cards, but I was especially proud that DeNami Design chose this one, a personal favorite. The original card was created for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge's Love Letters challenge back in February. DeNami Design was the sponsor and was so generous to provide each member of the Curtain Call Crew with a selection of love themed stamps. Here is the original card...
I was invited to create my own Inspired By project and jumped at the chance. I used some of the same stamps, pattern papers, dies and accents. I was in the mood to incorporate a LOT of sequins in my design so a shaker card seemed like a great choice. Without further ado, here's the new card! It's very different, but definitely inspired by the original.
A piece of wood veneer sheeting was die cut and stained with green ink to match the subtle floral pattern of the paper backing the shaker window. This paper comes from the same 6x6 paper pad as the original card (In Bloom by MME). Aside from green, the pattern also has pinks, corals, yellows and creams. I dug through my sequin collection to find some colors to match and added clear and gold for even more sparkle and shine.
I pulled out two of the stamp sets used on my original card, Fancy Flutters and Teeny Heart Background. The butterflies as well as the Hope Blooms sentiment were inked with Cotton StazOn and stamped on the acetate sheet. A stamp positioner helped center the sentiment perfectly.
The stamped acetate sheet was trimmed to 1/4" larger than the window opening and adhered to the frame. A double layer of foam mounting tape was adhered along the edges of the window and the sequin mix was added. A quick tip...rub an anti-static bag on the pattern paper and acetate sheet so the shaker's contents won't clump.
A scrap of canvas was die cut with a smaller version of the original card's tag. The Teeny Heart Background stamp was inked in coral, stamped off once, then pressed into the fabric. A wrinkle ribbon bow, die cut tag and upcycled "m" label (perfect for a card for Mom!) are held in place with a mini clothespin over the doily accent. Here are the two cards together...definitely different but definitely linked. I have to say, I love how the intensity of the pinks and greens are reversed in each design.
Here are the DeNami Design stamps used in the new design...
As a sequin addict, I'd be remiss if I didn't share today's sequin mix with you! ALL of the sequins used today are available at the Pretty Pink Posh shop...my happy place...*sigh*...
And there you have it! If you have any DeNami Design creations to share be sure to link them up HERE. Your project could be selected for a future Inspired By feature! A huge thank you to the DeNami Design DT for selecting my card...what an honor...huge hugs to each of ya's! :)
Thank you for visiting and have a great day!
